Hi, I am Alex.

I am a software engineer & data scientist living in Lyon (FR)

Among my many technical interests are software engineering, data visualization and statistics. I work on developing a wide range of skills. Thus, I feel just as confident writing a data preprocessing script, serving a model in a web server, or setting up a CI pipeline for unit tests.

My day is significantly influenced by technology watch, as I prefer to remain informed about the most recent developments in Python or analytics tools. I strongly believe in the FOSS mindset and, when I can, I contribute to the projects that I enjoy.

I obtained my Master of Science in Engineering with a major in telecommunications in 2017 with honors.

Experiences

All of my professional work, collected in chronological order.

2024 - Current

Canonical

Software Engineer - Data Platform & AI

I am part of the Data Platform & AI team, where I work on technologies such as Kafka, ZooKeeper or Spark, from packaging the sources all the way up to charmed operators to automate their deployment, integration & lifecycle management.

2019 - 2024

HEVA

Data Scientist & Tech lead

I took on some additional responsibilities. I provided technical support for the entire firm and managed the evolution of our technical stack.

Data Scientist

My responsibilities were twofold. I performed analyses on national health claim data for our clients in the pharmaceutical industry. This work involved data management, statistical modeling, and reporting with the PyData stack. As a Python developer and maintainer, I also took care of my team's internal tools.

2017 - 2018

Worldline

Software Engineer

I was part of the Business Intelligence & Big Data team in charge of designing and building a production-ready data science platform for training and deploying models. I worked on several projects involving banking information (fraud detection, cheque recovery prediction) with full-fledged data scientists.

Engineering internship

I worked in the Business Development unit on a banking chatbot.

Experiences

I have worked on many little projects over the years but these are the ones that I’m most proud of. I hope this list will continue to grow in the future!
